Jim Theis is an avid and experienced outdoorsman and has been around firearms the majority of his life.  Jim was a MN State and NRA certified gun safety instructor, teaching classes to MN youth and adults for over 15 years.

Jim began his security career over 15 years ago by developing the Westwood Community Church security program, which has been used as a model for church security development and structure in churches around the metro and beyond.  Jim coordinates the Westwood security team of over 40 members in training and skills development.  Jim is a permit to carry holder, a member of a local gun club where he trains weekly and is certified in holster draw skills.

In 2022, Jim coordinated with local and regional law enforcement and emergency management teams a massive, multi organization Active Shooter live simulation; the first of its kind in the Carver County area focused on mega-church vulnerabilities.  This simulation assisted in training not only his own security team, but emergency and law enforcement personnel across three cities, and included over 150 participants.

Jim is a certified Verbal Judo instructor, a Certified Alice Active Shooter Response trainer and is a safety consultant with Kingswood security.  He is an alumni of the FBI Citizens Academy for Minnesota, and is a co-founder and primary instructor for Bold North Judgement Training.
